"ENVIRONMENT IS MY NEW BEST FRIEND" |
| |
"ENVIRONMENT IS MY NEW BEST FRIEND" was the theme of a TREE PLANTATION drive
organized by Gitanjali Gems in one of the schools in the western suburbs of
Mumbai. 100 saplings were planted in the school premise and various
environment related activities and competitions were organized .The
children also performed songs and dance related to environment conservation.
Certificates of appreciation were given out to the winners of various
competitions. |

Gitanjali Gem’s Ltd . Effort towards prevention of the illegal slaughter of animals |

Gitanjali Group supported Shri Rajpur Deesa Panjarapol which is Working towards prevention of the illegal slaughter of animals specially cattle in Deesa ,Northern Gujarat. The trucks carrying animals from Rajasthan via Gujarat to slaughter houses in Maharashtra are intercepted , the animals rescued and taken care of. Thousands of animals have been saved and taken in safe hands. |

Sambhav – Gitanjali groups ,CSR initiative has joined hands with ZEE news in their “My Earth My Duty”, initiative where they conducted environment awareness events and tree plantation drives across various colleges and parks in Mumbai. The objective was to Aware & Educate people about climate change and their responsibilities towards it.!!! and tips to implement changes in daily routine to minimize the damage to the environment. |

“Plant a Tree” initiative by Diya Diamonds on the occasion of World Environment Day |

Mumbai, 6th June, 2011 – On the occasion of World Environment Day, Diya Diamonds today announced the “Plant a Tree” initiative with Brand Ambassador Celina Jaitley, who was present at the event to pledge her support for this noble cause.
Diya Diamond’s planet friendly initiative on World Environment Day aims to create awareness and educate the society on the importance of a Green Nation.
On this occasion Celina Jaitley, Brand ambassador of Diya Diamonds said “I am proud to be associated with this initiative by Diya Diamonds. This activity is the perfect platform to create awareness about our environmental issues and a step in the right direction. I hope everybody joins us and takes a pledge on World Environment Day to give back to nature and become pro actively environmentally friendly”
Mr. Niyat Parekh, CEO of Gitanjali Brands Ltd. announced this worthy initiative by Diya Diamonds and planted the 1st sapling to support this eco friendly cause and said “Through this CSR activity we aim to highlight our environmental issues and create a platform for all to give back to the environment by planting a sapling and contributing for a greener nation. We are glad that Celina is part of this initiative and has come forward to ensure a cleaner, greener and brighter outlook for the city.”

Tree plantation Drive at Hyderabad SEZ

A large scale tree plantation drive was organized at Hyderabad unit on 15th Aug to mark the occasion of Independence Day.
To make the day even more special and memorable, everyone joined hands to pledge to make the campus greener and participated in the initiative.
Each plant has been dedicated to a group of employees who shall be responsible for nurturing the tree. All employees including the PWD,s participated actively in the plantation. |

Green Dream

Srishti is a new CSR initiative of Gitanjali Group aimed at creating awareness regarding the responsible use of limited natural resources and the importance of preserving the ecological and environmental balance.
Under this programme, Gitanjali will be carrying out drives for conserving energy and water resources, organizing tree plantation drives etc. Srishti will also promote reuse and recycling of paper with the aim of ultimately moving towards a paper free office. Awareness drives among employees would also be carried out on issues like saving limited natural resources like fuel and other steps that would help combat problems like global warming. Srishti would work hand in hand with others towards the conservation and preservation of Planet Earth. |
